neal455,
Not a bad thing by any means. It's still a genuine Enforcer and doesn't decrease its worth in any way, it just means it wasn't issued to a Police force.
Cheers,
Simon.

Simon,
What a nice chap!
I have been custodian of my L42A1 D71 for 15 years and some, which came to me after many years searching, obviously my pride and joy.
I would be greatful for any information you have on her
Serial No. AH9334 from a M47 1943 No.4T.
On a similar tack do you have an overall production figures for number of L42's produced, and does your data include details of those L42's that have fallen in battle ( once read an article of one sniper who dumped his L42 in a stream in the falklands after it continualy jammed, [I didn't find it though in the years I spent down there after hostilities ceased] ).
Thanks for your help I look forward to your reply.

Dave,
Rifle number AH9334 does not appear in the records I have access too but please don't read anything into that. It is a fact that the remaining records are not 100% complete and to be honest I'm surprised that of all the serial numbers I've checked out to date I think this is the first one that isn't in the records I've got access too.
I would appreciate it if you could PM me some pics and details on your rifle so I can add the details into the records for the future.
If you bear with me I'll have a count up of the serial numbers listed when I have a little more time and get back to you on the numbers converted.
Cheers,
Simon.

DanL96a1,
I can't help you with the 4(T) serial number as they where never recorded.
Envoy No E190 was despatched to Mr Willmott of Sheerness on the 5th Feb 1970.
Cheers,
Simon.

Simon,
My L42A1 is L41A1D71, L32565, Stock and Scope are 26251
Mr Peter Ladlier, based on the number of the scope told me that the rifle was a training rifle for snipers at the Warminster School of Infantry
Would appreciate any additional information/details.
Thanks,
Anton

From the information you've supplied I would say it's a rifle that's been built up. The 19T mark is the standard proof pressure for the 7.62 cartridge.
Cheers,
Simon.
