    Isn't the intertwined P over W in the oval circle, the Winchester Proof?
    I've always thought so.
    Don't recall seeing any stamped P's on any of mine.
    Just the PW along with the W marking. Or a partial W stamp.

    Yes, it is Charlie, that's the reason I didn't say "P" proof mark. Kinda hard to duplicate the Winchester proof mark with a keyboard . . .
