Pakistani marked No1MkIII rifles?

Badger, having handled 100's of No1MkIIIs over the years, and currently hoarding a large number myself, I can without reservation state that it is NOT a Darra or Khyber Pass copy. It is most definitely a Pakistani captured and marked Ishapor manufactured rifle. Anyone who wants to see this rifle in person can do so at the Washington Arms Collectors show this coming weekend in Puyallup Washington. I will have a display table there for my meager collection. Hopefully Ian Skennerton will stop by... Anyone else is also welcome.

Sorry, bad choice of words, my apologies.....

I was just posting the pics as background color for the region about some of the Khyber Pass locally made pieces that come out of the region.

In reading the post later, I realizeI was drawing comparisons when I really meant to say that I had not ever seen any Enfields come out of the region with those kinds of markings and I found your post and pics very intersting on the subject.

If you ever have the time and inclination, I think it would make for the topic of an excellent article for the MKL (Milsurp Knowledge Library).

Thanks for the clarification! After this weekend I'll see about a better photo essay if the weather/lighting cooperates.

It IS a very interesting rifle, only one I have ever seen.

This past weekend I had the Pakistani capture No1MKIII rifle on display at the WAC show in WA state. Ian Skennerten came by and ended up VERY interested in the rifle. He stated it has the P for Pakistan marks, and by the date it matches the time of the border wars. It was the only one he has ever seen.

Have a twin to yours. Was told that it was a police rifle(P for police rather than Pakistan). Clearly more research needs to be done.
