Also wouldn't that op rod be a straight type, not the early slant type

On Win-13's it could be either, but it probably shouldn't be modified. There are some guys that want the racetrack mod to be a WWII mod done at Winchester, but you are buying/selling an argument when you go there. I go back and forth still and would love to allow for the possibility, but without some kind of source documentation I just don't know how we will ever know for sure.

Beautiful stock, gas cylinder lock is awful dark, sight cover is SA, plunger should have ears (and I always took the rounded ones to be Korean but I think there is someone out there who calls them WRA), front sight looks a bit too wide almost, can't see the trigger housing pad. That all might be a bit brutal, so I'll end it by saying that is a very nice rifle and there is a lot of nice stuff there (and that really does appear to be an absolutely exceptional stock).

Still,you guys are shocking me - that is a lot of money ...

Just for info. , SARCO was selling some M1ds they put together a few years ago, all from parts. I know that some of them were built on import receivers and have a British Nitro proof on the left side of the front of the receiver but no import marks on the barrels. You have to strip the rifle to see it. Also I know on some they didnt use M1d stocks and didnt install the original cheek piece screws on some. If you peek under the leather cheek piece there should be a half boxed SA inspectors mark and also there should be two small brass screws holding the cheek piece to the stock.

SARCO wasnt trying to fool anyone and they stated that they were put together rifles but once they change hands a time or two......then who knows
