    M1917 vs M1903A3 Springs

    John, isn't it also true that the Remington "R" stamp on the M1917 spring has serifs, and the "R" for the M1903A3 spring does not? This has been my observation, in addition to the shapes of the "kinks." Thanks, and best regards, KarlKW

    Yes! That is indeed true. Remington M1917 springs are marked with a large serifed "R" whereas Remington M'03-A3 springs are marked with a very small block "R". In addition to having C-shaped bends, Remington M1917 springs also have a rounded tip on the top end.
