L39 Unit Information - help !

Boy, am I glad that I am in Reno, Nevada - my paltry little collection is safe - for now. My heart goes out to the British shooting community. I just hope that the next UK government is not full of gormless morons (well, at least has fewer gormless morons).

The rumours are that the Tories are already in discussion with the Home Office about Firearms legislation. As they were the lot that took our pistols away (apart from a few .22 pistols that Labour took) I am not expecting anything pro-gun ownership. Especially as the Mandarins at the Home Office tend to have the next lot of more restrictive legislation on the back burner just waiting for a change of government or an excuse like: Shepherds Bush (1968 Act), Hungerford (1988 Act) Dunblane (1997 Act).

On the bright side, one of the rumours is about tweaking the 1988 Act to allow semi-auto .17s. The Act currently bans all self-loaders except .22 rimfire. It makes a lot of sense (so it probably won't happen) because most opinion is that .17s are much safer than .22s.
