jharris, Mike has good advice if you can get such an M1icon with those great specs for a price you can afford. I know 5.8 M Garands one notch above Service Grade (Correct Grade) listed by the CMPicon for $950 when available.

I am a shooter/collector so I would go for an all USGI Garand. 99% of the Garand would be mixmasters or restorations. I'd go for the least expensive best spec Garand I could find. Advertise for one on the WTB forum here at milsurp or CSPicon. Go for one with a TE no less than 4 and MW no more than 3. Check the CMP website for specs of Rack, Field, Service, Correct, and Collector Grade Garands.

Go to the website Curio and Relic Buds to see what the market prices are for varying degrees of Garands.

    What exactly is CSP?

I have my CCW, if I re-join the GCAicon would I be qualified to buy from the CMP?

I was leaning toward another M1 from DGR, I have ordered two from him in the past and was very impressed with his work. Would you recommend a Correct Grade from the CMP over this?

    Thanks for the link Dan,

I've been looking at CMPicon's site and like the sound of the "Correct Grade". Does anyone have any idea when they will get more in stock?

Also would I be able pick up a Correct Grade (when in stock) at the South Store?

Just email 'em and ask at CMP. I think their email address is custserve@cmp.com, or something linke that. Go to CMP Home and ask 'em directly.
