Bought this at a gunshow last weekend, thought it was a little unusual. Seller thought it might be a line throwing rifle. Have received some e-mail replies that it was probably a target rifle. It's missing the rear sight and has a one piece handguard. Cleaning the brown tacky film off the metal revealed a beautiful blue finish, the stock also has a very fine finish on it. Not like a military issue stock. It has volley sights and matching numbers on the barrel,receiver, bolt and nosecap. It is marked BSA,1911, Sht LE, #1 MkIII.Check the pics, see what you think.
