Against most all advice I continued to shoot my 6 number Springfield, normally 10 to 15 reduced loads usually on Memorial and Veterans days but recently I have had a second pistol blow up in my hand, believe me guys this is no fun, I have decided to quit tempting fate and let the old gal rest for good. She is still in very good shape for a rifle that was forged in 1907 and rebarreled in 1919 so I'm fairly sure she saw action in the Great War you know the one that was suppose to end all wars, the bore is bad (very frosty) and the rifling is about gone but the old gal still shot fairly well at 100 yards. Anyways it's time for her to rest being 110 years old R.I.P.Information
