I am a new member to the forum and this is my first posting, I have Trials T No A0893, the rifle is totally original. The front pad, has been re fitted has its Enfield inspectors stamp on the top foreward surface. The pad screws have not been staked. The scope is a 1941 Kodak no 7392.The bracket is not original, as its a Canadianicon 71L I did wonder why the scope number was so high, but Peter Laidlers comments about trials rifle scope numbers being around 6000 makes my scope far more likley to be original. On the wrist of the butt , where the scope number should be is actually the rifle number, the scope number is not on the rifle, or bracket.

Welcome to the Forum, Karlos! Thanks for the info, there's not enough out there yet on the Enfield T's.

I'd have posted pics of mine, but I told the fellow I got it from a few years back that I'd refrain. (For reasons that I won't go into now, let's just say I don't want to hurt his feelings, nothing dodgy, though.)

DRP, you mention Thamesbank Engineering. Elmbank (?) Foundary did some of the earliest founding/foundry work for Dalglish according to the archivist at Glasgow City Library where their records are held. Any connection?

    DPL,
Sorry, Alzheimer's setting in. I meant Elmbank.......
Having said all that I still think they're more likely to be three-quarters finished 'after market' specimens. When it rises above freezing point in the garage I'll get in there & sort them out for you to have a look at!

    ATB&HNY!

  8. Thank You to Roger Payne For This Useful Post:

It's a pretty straightforward process using the "Manage Attachments" button during post creation, however, I suspect (as with most people) that you're trying to upload individual pics that are TOO LARGE. Each pic can't be more than 250k in size, but there's an answer if your pics from your camera are too big, which they usually are. The reason to have smaller pics is to make it easier for everyone who is viewing them on-line over the Internet to see them quickly, or the darn things would take forever to be downloaded and seen by the reader.

Here is some reading for you ...

How do I upload or post images? (click here)

How do I use PhotoBucket to display images? (click here)

How do I post pics? - A tutorial by Wally (click here)

In regards to PhotoBucket specifically, you don't even have to "GO" to you don't have to even leave your "creating post" screen"....

Failing that, as I said, you can email them to me and I'll post them for you.

    Hope that helps ...

    Regards,
    Badger

I've managed to figure out pictures using Photobucket. Took a bit of fiddling , but I never killed anything but time!

Couple of more bracket and scope questions:

Were the scopes shipped from the mfg's with or w/o the brackets pre-installed in the packing boxes? I'd guess without, but that's all it is, a guess.

Did Holland's do all the machining on the brackets as well as the pads, or was the work done prior to delivery? If outside, who did it?

Anybody with a bracket that has any inspector's marks aside from the Rose Bros. or Daglish IDs? I have an unnumbered one that has a small "M" on the rear leg just above the rear pad cut (action side).

    Edited by Moderator:

KARLOS ... see my post below this one to see what you're doing wrong using the IMG tags. You can'r reference pics that are local on your own computer, because nobody will ever see them when you turn it OFF.

Below is the pic you sent me via email I re-sized it from the 2 Megabytes size you emailed down to about 150k, using the FREE program from Microsoft that is discussed in the links to our Q&A forum above. Once I re-sized it, I simply used the "Manage Attachments" button in the post creation form to upload it to be stored on our site, along with the post itself. Click on the thumbnail of the pic below to view it full size. Even though it's been resized to be easily viewed by others over the Internet, the detail is just fine for any computer screen.

The problem with your attempt to post images as above using the IMG tags, is that you are referencing the pics to a local drive on your local computer. That won't work as the reference must be an Internet address starting with HTTP:// and pointing to pics stored someplace on the Internet.

You could UPLOAD the pics from your local drive using the "Manage Attachments" button when creating or editing a post. They would then appear as attachments in your post stored on our host server here. Refer to the links I left you previously for those instructions.

    Regards,
    Badger
