    According to Carbine Club newsletter #237 the round bolt predominates from 5750xxx to the end of the block.

    WOW thats great info ...so by rights then a late war issued carbine would have left the factory with a round bolt.

    Can anyone give approx factory dates for the change or issue

    Round bolts appeared on Winchesters around June 1944 and were in mixed used with flat bolts June-July 1944. By August 1944 mostly round bolts were used.
