I've tried F+M, Privi and S&B but the best results I have had are from a handload using either the Privi 198gr FMJ or the 200gr SMK with 47gr of N140. Matches the calibration of the sight ramp on my byf41 pretty perfectly.

Hi Andy,
handloading is normaly the best solution. I prefer more the S&B bullets they are a little bit better with the same load than the PRVI`S are. Good data`s.

Thanks Gunner....I'll have to see if I can find those. To be honest, I cheat on the handloads
.
I have the guys at HPS Targetmaster in the UK
make them up for me.
John Carmichael is very knowledgable and helpful and a real godsend if, like me, you are short on time to do it yourself.

Andy,
to bad that John is so far away. I have a lot of work with reloading and only a limited time to do this.

yes, a 1937 rifle will be .323.
you'll be hard pressed to find the .318 ammo anywhere. wherever you get your ammo from, it's gonna be the .323 stuff for the 98k. as long as what you get is 7.92x57mm (more commonly called 8mm Mauser) it's what you need
