Hmm... OK then, how about the proper setting and use of volley sights to hit a target past 1500 yards? You could also include all the proper drill commands

I expect a thorough dispersion analysis of the bullet impacts too - anything less would be amateurish, don't you agree?

    Hi Matt,
Welcome from a rank newbie to Enfield collecting. Spent 20 years in the US Army Security Agency, retired in 1981 and had always been a Garand or M14icon lover. Now, at 66 and on a fixed income, I couldn't afford either and wanted something in .308 to use for shooting and maybe a bit of hunting if it ever becomes necessary to keep from going hungry

Bought an Ishapore 2A from AIM Surplus a month ago, and am still in the process of cleaning it up so it looks like a rifle instead of a paint bucket. Friend of mine here in Wichita saw it before I started stripping the spotty black paint off the metal, and showed up the next day with a cosmolene covered 1948 Fazakerly No. 4 MK I that is in pretty decent shape. He actually gifted me with it. From zero to 2 Enfileds in less than a week, guys, it don't get much better than that.

I'm waiting on the headspace gauges to get here for both the .308 and .303 from Brownells and Numrich so I can proof 'em before going to the range.

The info in the Knowledge Libraryicon here has kept me from being a pest with newbie questions and all I needed was a pointer in the right direction from Badger.

Jeez- ya drop off the radar for a couple of weeks and come back to find the neighbourhood has gone to the pack!

I'll raise a belated glass to you Matt, a true gentleman, "should you never need to delete me"

    Cheers, mate.

    Thumbs up

Welcome to the lee Enfield forum I can readily understand why you and the Brits have such a great affection for this rifle I now own the #4 Mk1 and I'll tell you talk about accuracy, and smooth operation I'm something of a good shot, but 15 bulls out of 20 shots is outrageous. This is some rifle. Think perhaps I'll buy the Ishapore or SMLE as well.

    Again Matt welcome

Yes, all legit. You may recognise the set-up from Matt's You Tube clip. (I was standing behind him, feeding him some of the info) The top two rifles are mine. I've really gotta get off my butt and do a pictorial for Badger to put in the Library. Been promising for ages...

Hey Son, that's a good action shot of El-Shonko Film Productions in action!

    Cheers,
    Matt

You're welcome to borrow my Omark if you want to do a pictorial on something different.

Mate, I'm not sure how to categorise your Omark. Really it's an experimental trial prototype. Being that it was set up by the Lithgowicon factory, (and SAF Lithgow made barrels for them too) and has an SAF serial number, I'd imagine it would have to come into the "Lee Enfield" lineage as a second cousin, once removed.

If you want to generate some discussion, start a thread with some pics of the markings and let's see if anyone has heard of them. I'm keen to pursue any info we can get, even to do a posting for the Library..... Other than confirmation that some units kept a few Omarks for marksmanship practice and competition, I've not found anything!

I'm hoping connections I'll make in my new job may lead to more info on it and other things with question marks hanging over them.

The Member's Showcase forum is marked Reply Only for this little black duck.

Obviously I'll have to do something erstwhile to earn some brownie points to get access.
