I compared all your photos with my rifle, just the external parts since I did not remove its stock yet.
The extractor brings serial "69" while my serial is ending by "62".

How can this be explained ?
Did they fit by mistake the extractor of another rifle during factory process ?
Has the extractor been replaced later ?
Or ... ?

The bolt group is not original for this rifle. Someone has reprinted the serial numbers in order to make them same as the receivers ones.

I will return the rifle back to the man who sold it.

Nice looking rifle, however i think that both rifles have renumbered bolts. There should be a trough at the base of the handle, next to the bolt body. I can't remember ever seeing an original bolt that did not have that feature.

Exactly, I consider a good K98 a real piece of History and a must for any collector, as it is a Springfield Armory M1903 rifle.
