That's a very broad question. Do you know the manufacturer & year of manufacture of the rifle? Also, could you get some photo's of it? If you have, or can get, photo's then let us have a look & I'm sure you'll get plenty of helpful advice.

    Delboy,

Have you any more info and any pics ? what date is the rifle ? is it just scope and rifle or with scope can ? £3000 seems a good price, but you need to do your homework there are a lot of not so correct No4 T's about..........

I would doubt a Mk1 scope would be original to the rifle..... its probably been mated to the rifle and the number stamped on the Butt unless its an early trials one.....

Sorry Delboy....... Roger and big duke are being a tad diplomatic. On the other hand, I'm not so....... You have asked the typical and ambiguous 'what can I do to get my car started' question. Your Q has told us absolutely nothing I'm afraid!

    Delboy,

The scope looks the real deal, the bracket isn't, its a cheap Asian repro......... as for the rifle its a No4 Mk 1 but you would need better detailed pics to confirm it was a T.

Delboy you need to upload the pics to photo bucket or similar then copy them and paste...... there is a post or thread in the Stickies with instructions etc, it will allow some of the experts to look at them, I can tell you for sure the bracket isn't genuine......and the TR on the socket looks fresh (IE the paint looks like its missing) could be just the pic.

I've just found it from the info you provided. As Big Duke says, more photo's of the rifle would be nice, though I suspect in this case would only serve to help us pull the thing to pieces more readily! Even from the views shown the rifle is almost certainly a fake; the receiver side wall T is wrong, you rarely if ever see original 4T's with the FTR details electrpencilled onto the body wall in the way one does with bog standard No4's; the 'S' on the cut-off boss looks like it was put there last week; the bracket is a modern Pacific Rim repro.................but the good news is that the scope is real!

Hope this helps you make up your mind a little........
