Photos of British Navy makred Long Branch line thrower

I was incorrect in my previous comments. I looked at three Long Branch line throwers. 1943 and 1950 ones did not have the N marking on the socket. The 1944 version shown has the Britishicon Navy N marking on the socket and R anchor N marking on the buttstock which seems to confirm that N is a British marking and C^N is a Canadianicon marking. But a Long Lee thrower pictured in another entry would seem to dispute that assumption.

Long Lee Enfield Mk1 Line Thrower

Photos exist of this style of Line Thrower being used by the RCMP. I bought this rifle out of Canadaicon. It is an 1897 Sparkbrook Lee Enfield Mk1. Note the N on the socket. Was this Britishicon Navy issue given to Canada with a ship or did Canada us the N as well?

I have a No.2 MkIVstar .22 rifle with the C broad arrow N marking as shown on the Colt New Service. I looked at two Long Branch line throwers, the 1944 does not have the N on the socket and the 1950 does.

The "N" mark on the ROFM 1941 No.4Mk.1 is identical to yours CODFan. It's just centered below the seal number instead of above it.

    A few pictures. I am looking for help/comments .....

    1. "Ry" on Knox Form = Replacement Barrel? However Barrel is date 43 (as is the Rifle).
    2. Crescent C on Receiver, bolt head and on Barrel?
    3. The trigger is grooved and is marked "SM" (Singer) with a No4 profile correct?

    Thank you.

The Receiver was also stammped, then scrubbed, then the No4 MkI*, Long Branch, 1943 reapplied.

Therefore, the firearm was rejected at some point (C on receiver?), reworked with new barrel (hence the R), and reissued (many acceptance marks are present)?

Difficult to see in the picutre, however the initial markings are still barely visible ....
