    OT: Naval Aviators

I know there are a few brownshoes around here...

Has anyone run across a poem/quote that begins something like

"Somewhere, a Naval Aviator is landing on a carrier at night..."

I know I've heard that one before, but I can't quite place it. I'm trying to dig it up for a colleague's retirement program.

    V/R,

    Swampfox:

I forwarded your question to group of ex Naval Aviators that includes several Captains and at least two Admirals. They will know if anybody does.

I don't remember it, But I stayed away from them floatin airfields.
PB4Y-2 Privateers for about 7 months then P2V Neptunes for 4½ yrs. Flew the Ordnanceman position = waist gunner if we'd had guns on them.

    Wink Perhaps...

My guys haven't been able to come up with anything(yet). The general thought is that perhaps it is some sort of parody of ‘Casey at the Bat’…. “Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright”
