Found this Mk111* at a LGS

New to the forum in hopes of discovering more information on this rifle. Purchased at a Local gun store near our camp.
Aside from the year of manufacture I believe this to be a Canadian issue rifle re: the large 'C' with arrow inside. Also, at least one of the barrel bands was made by Singer. Not sure what the other markings mean.
Another forum suggested this rifle may have been issued to the west coast militia here in Canada though I don't know how that conclusion was made.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
