My thought? Leave it as a what it is: a relic wall-hanger. There's fewer and fewer around. Too far gone for anything else.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

OP's Rolling-Block is Remington made and chambered for a center-fire cartridge. (The two most likely cartridges are .43 Spanish or .43 Egyptian).
My hunch is that it is in .43 Spanish.
The Rolling-Block is likely a model 1871. It has the early "sliding-bar" extractor. The rifle likely dates from around 1875.
A small 'tooth' on the extractor should engage the semi-circular cut on the left-side of the breech-block, near its axis. Possibly, the 'tooth' has broken off.
I have put 'yellow arrows' on the OP's photo, indicating the machined 'cut' and the frozen extractor.

A decent replica of the 'instructional handkerchief', featuring the Spanish Rolling-Block - Modelo 1871, 'Sistema Remingthon', can be found on e-Bay from time to time.
IMHO - The colorful print makes a nice wall-hanging to go with a vintage rifle. The schematic shows a rear-sight of the type on the OP's R-B. (I believe his is just bent and damaged).
BTW - It is possible OP's R-B was just assembled incorrectly.
The 'tooth' on the bottom-rear of the 'sliding-extractor' needs to engage its recess on the Block.
If the 'tooth' is in front of the Block, the extractor cannot slide to the rear.
It is likely the Block should be installed, first, then the extractor can be slid into place, and finally the 'retaining-screw'.
