Rolling Block ID

Just picked this dirty, but complete Remington rolling block up at a local pawn shop. Mechanically tight, with surprisingly good bore (again, dirty) should be a good shooter.
Having trouble nailing down the model. Don't know the caliber yet. Has an interesting rear sight, looks like a peep.
Got it apart, going to give it a good cleaning.
Appreciate any thoughts!

It looks early because you don not have the half dove-tail cuts on the receiver to support the butt stock. All the
43 cal (11mm ) South American models have the half dove tail cuts in the butt stock and receiver unless you have
a very early 11 mm ? Also looks like the large hammer on the 50-70 models ? the peep sight is home made.

It could be a rifle for one of the states militia too

Just discovered some crown stamping on the barrel bands.

The rear-sight appears to be a repair or modification of a type of leaf, with 'peep', that appeared around 1874.

With 'crowns' on the barrel-bands and the rifle's overall configuration, I suspect it may have been made for Spain and chambered for .43 Spanish.

Pictures of the chamber and type of ejector would be good clues to identity.

Some more closeups. On closer inspection, it appears the extractor is either broken or missing. Also, haven't seen a serial number!

Anzac15 - Remove the butt, then you should find a serial number on one of the tangs ( I forget which one)

Another possibility is the front face of the receiver.

Anyway, you have to get the wood off and look!

I am going to take a guess on your rollong block rifle: I think it may be a 1867 Danish model. made in Denmark under Remington license

Found the serial number today, upper and lower tang.

Do you think it might be chambered for a large rim fire cartridge ? Difficult to pin point but this could be a rim fire
