    My BSA 4T has (in my eyes) a very poor fitted rear mount, however the rifle was previously owned by a guy who shoots at the same club as Peter Laidlericon, Peter has inspected it and declared it 'Pukka', and nothing to be concerned about.

    Just sayin.

    Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

    I don't see it leaving Messrs Holland & Holland like that. Perhaps it's a genuine rifle that got stripped at some point & required the fitting of a replacement rear pad (out of military service). That would be quite feasible.

    I was thinking along similar lines, PL checked it over for me before my purchase (I bought it unseen except for photos) and he made no comment on it so I took it as being 'acceptable'.

    It 'works as it should' just looks a bit ugly.

    It is an RAF issue 4T and was last serviced at '34 Base Workshops Catterick' September '68
