    Simon,

Could you tell me the original force receiving Enforcer 077?

I purchased what appears to be an ex Police Parker Hale M82 which came mounted with the Pecar from 077. I'm wondering if the force retained the Pecar after retiring the Enforcer.

    Many thanks

    Tony

    Tony,

Rifle serial number 077 went to Liverpool Police on the 14th May 1974

    Cheers,

    Simon.

    Thanks Simon,

Does anyone know if the Liverpool rifles made it out on to the market or did they have a date with the chop saw?

Cheers for the confirmation about 476, I needed to know because last year I contacted Staffs police with a 'freedom of information' request concerning 476 and guess what? They had no record that they had ever owned it, they did confirm though, that they still had No. 102 (I think), kept by them for tactical training and that its origonal butt stock had been replaced with one from an L42.

    Hello Simon,

I've got a No 4 Mk 2 with hammer forged barrel and the right woodwork, which I have been told is an Enforcer. Not sure if this is correct.

    Serial number is: N 2117

Can supply photographs if it will help.

Bought in a gun shop retirement sale as a "Parker Hale" although it doesn't say Parker Hale anywhere on it apart from the PH 5C sights.

    Thanks.

    Ian

    Hello Ian,

It sounds like what you have there is a Parker Hale target rifle. If you can post some pics on the main forum there's plenty of folk there who can identify it for you.

There were less than a thousand Enforcers manufactured all within their own serial number block, as such a genuine rifle would have a three digit serial number with an "A" prefix.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

    Simon,

Many thanks for the prompt and informative response. I had suspected as much given the very good condition of the rifle, and that I believed a rifle with a slightly lower number than mine had come out of CO. I purchased this rifle from a private seller who had no information to offer, and the dealer he purchased it from also did not have any information on it so any news is good news as they say. Despite having no police provenance I am greatly pleased to posses one of these rifles and intend to try it out at the range in the morning.

    Keep up the excellent work.

Hi Mas sorry no aditional information apart from what you already have been told - however you are only 20 miles away from me so drop me a pm as I no longer have any 7.62 rifles but still have a quantity of ammunition - including 1 unopened box (20 rounds) of the original Radway Green that was the ammunition that the Enforcer was 'designed' to shoot
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Nope to that one Rumley. Many other L1A1's are within the same serial number range though

Hi. Looking to possibly purchase my first L39A1. Could you tell me about UE.70.A763?

    Thanks!
