I cannot believe this hasn't been mentioned before... How about an original DeLisle carbine? Now THAT is a rare one!

Mine has got to be an Enforcer!!
Also, I have yet to come across a nice Long Lee!
I have a couple more to add to this picture, but it takes alot of effort to get everything out of the safes and assembled for a picture. Added a Longbranch and an Indian rework since this picture.
I have been lucky to have added the lens cloth, brush, container and sling to the L42A1 with the help of some new friends across the pond. Still need the IWS mount. Anyone?
Brian
Well Brian let me just say OMG! That is one hell of a first post! Your L42 leaves me speechless. Thank You.

It’s always a thrill to fill all the little pockets and find that one missing accessory!
I think we also now see why the price of No4.Mk.1(T)’s has risen so steeply in that you seem to be hording them!

I am trying to relieve myself of one in order to prepare for the chance at the Enforcer, but it seems the economy is hurting the market at present.
I have one listed on another forum for $2400. Rifle is complete with scope and mount. They do not match each other, but still a nice rig. I don't understand why people will pay $2000 for a scope and count on eBay, but won't pay an extra $400 for a rifle. I guess most people have a rifle and need the scope and mount. I am ready to list the scope/mount on eBay and keep the rifle.
I should post it for sale on this forum as well to gain more exposure. I had it sold in the first 5 minutes, but buyer backed out due to plant closure at the end of the next day of his work. Can't blame him.

Kinda new to the Holy Grail hunt, but an original Australian
coachwood-stocked SMLE would be great for me.

Allright, well, if I really HAD to choose just one, and I should mention that only No.1 pattern SMLE's interest me (all Marks), then I would have to go with...
The SMLE that Faisal gave to Col. T.E. Lawrence.
Sadly, unless the Imperial War Museum in London ever sells it for a reasonable sum, I'm SOL
This particular rifle was carried during the First World War Arab Revolt against the Turks by T E Lawrence ("Lawrence of Arabia"), whose initials are carved on the stock. It was given to him by the Emir Feisal, to whom it had been presented by the Turks. The gold inlaid Turkish
inscription records the fact that it was captured from the British
at Gallipoli. The inscription on the butt disc indicates that the rifle was originally issued to the 1st Essex Regt. The five notches cut in the stock denote Turks killed by Lawrence with this rifle. The rifle was given by Lawrence to King George V and, later, placed on loan at the Imperial War Museum.

I’m not as interested in the SMLE as the No.4’s but I think I might be able to find a spot for that one on the rifle rack…..

My holy grail would be the exact SMLE that my grandfather used at Hong Kong with the Grenadiers. I suspect, however, he left it in poor condition before his capture.
So I guess then I'd have to say a Canadian
WWII used SMLE.
