Some folks on Gunbroker use the phrase "discreet Paypal accepted". If you carefully omit all key words in your correspondence, you will have no trouble. Paypal & ebay use "bots"; i.e., they search all correspondence for any of the words on their "unacceptable" list. Actually, they are reading your emails.

And one more little update on this.

As discussed earlier in the thread, eBay is moving away from PayPal and migrating users to their new payment platform called "Managed Payments."

I was told by eBay over the phone that they cannot currently just "push a button" to opt people into Managed Payments. It is a case-by-case review of sellers and only a limited amount will be let in per year due to "certain agreements with PayPal."

But here's the deal, you can request to be considered for the trial through a page on their site. Since I'm on the computer every night printing shipping labels anyway, I just left this page up and requested their consideration every night for about 3 weeks.

    And now I'm in! Coincidence???

I know not everyone loves eBay, and I certainly don't agree with them politically, but in a war of attrition the troops need supplied by any means.

Today is a very good day for this particular small (one-man) business.

So - what about "managed payments"? Are they going to have the same BS stipulations?

Managed Payments will be only through eBay. Simply put, I won't be able to use it for the same things that got me banned from PayPal.
I have a self-professed "second amendment friendly" credit card processor now anyway that handles that stuff.

Until its not. Everybody and their sister is trying to get you to pay through their service, I can't see eBay staying out of that market for long. They were, after all, in it for years with PayPal in the first place.

Perhaps. But again, I have a credit card processor that handles all my outside-of-ebay transactions.
I'm averaging .35% (yes, one third of one percent) on my transactions through them.

Way cheaper than PayPal anyway. PayPal banishing me has saved me approximately $800 in fees since they did it. Thanks, PayPal!!

    One, probably, final update:

PayPal has released the funds they had on hold after their 180 days. I really expected to have to fight for it! I can now completely wipe my hands of PayPal for good

To bad there isn't a 'List' of how many are currently sitting with funds locked down by Pay Pal and the total money tied up.
I'm sure their sitting on a nice stash that they make $interest on.
But best to refund before tax period ends. Now the funds you had locked down become a expenditure for them.

    RC,
    Happy for you....
    Served your time well.
