    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Dan
    Well I have 6 different P14's as well. Three with Parker-Hale micrometer sights and three stock. and they are the three different makers Plus one M1917 with a Parker Hale sight. I have kept the original rear volley sights and the rear sights for those with the target sights The M1917 has RCAF property marks.

    You might class the P14's that went through the Weedon Repair Centre before WW2 as different since the volley sights were deleted, though I don't have any of those.

    As 0311Shooter says, I assume you don't have to own one but merely have to be familiar with shooting it:

    In no particular order:

    M-1;

    1917 Enfield;

    Mossberg 500 12ga pump;

    Pretty much anything in .375 H&H;

    Barrett .50.

    Pre`64 Model 70
    Springfield 03
    Garandicon
    Win 52 (any model)
    Colt HBAR

    Add a Model 12 if we get to include shotguns
    Ithaca 37
    Rem 870

    Depending on the phase of the moon and color of the trees, any of the above could change places when I get up in the morning.

    But if on a large south Pacific island w/ only one gun in one caliber, it would be the Model 70 in 30-06 for rifle, and/or the Rem 870 in 12ga for shotgun

    Five favorite long arms? I'd have to plead multiple personality if I only could have five.

    I suppose if I had to ...

    Thompson 1927 A1
    Thompson 1927 A3
    Johnson 1941
    M14icon
    M1 Carbine

    Of course my wish list would have to include a BAR.
    (do accessory kits count?)

    Cool

    Well, kinda hard to just pick 5 since I probably have 2 or 3 that would tie for first place. All of these I own and shoot:

    1. FN/FAL select fire - Every time I go out!
    2. MP 43 - don't shoot this as much as I would like.
    3. Mk I Bren - regularily
    4. M1icon Carbine
    5. K 43 - my hunting rifle
    I also cheat and add
    6. Garand - 43 SA (I'm in the process of building a Beretta in 7.62 Nato)

    And I've also got a BAR, but I like the Bren better.

    In order of Production, straight up, as issued grunt guns:

    M1861 .58 cal Springfield
    M1895 .236 cal Winchester Lee (don't own yet)
    M1898 Krag Jorgeson
    M1903 Springfield
    M14 (M1Aicon) 7.62x51

    Yes, I shoot them.
