[QUOTE=Roger Payneicon;386217]Hi rbiron. I don't have a forend handy at the minute, but it is simply the standard No4 forend with a few mods, the one of which that is relevant here being the fact that it is cut short

    Hi Simon,

I'm looking for information on an L42 serial number appears to be U39873 ? Is this or anything close in your records. Very difficult to make out.

Ron, the only serial I can find that could possibly be mistaken for the number you quote is U34973 which was part of batch 41, consisting 23 weapons, converted 15th Nov 71 and out to store at Donnington.

    Simon.

    Cheers,

    Wow.....

A surviving ex-Met Police Enforcer - I thought the Met.Police had destroyed all their Enforcers, rather than sell on as surplus.

I'd love to own an ex-Met.Police Enforcer.

    GeeRam,
To my knowledge not many of theirs were crushed they are still out there.

A firearms officer in Wiltshire told me that most of the Enforcers he dealt with ended up in Devon & Cornwall for training purposes.

As an aside to that when they were eventually destroyed the furniture, glass and magazines were saved and sold off. This snippet came from a Devon RFD who got some of the furniture and I believe a couple of scopes.
