Must be a New Jersey thing. Only frenzy in PA seems to be with ammo. Local gun shop has two cases of pistols, maybe not the newest as I don't pay attention to that sort of thing. Another down in Lancaster is getting plenty of new things.

Unfortunately there is not too many gunshops in NJ as in some other states. Location is important!! As with any business we are the closest stop in NJ for the Philadelphia/Camden war zones with the Trenton war zone right up the road. All sorts of folks are arming themselves as the politicians have abandon the honest, hard working. tax paying folks for the criminal element. Those folks that can flee the cities are doing so and the tax base for the cities with them. A lot of folks who live in the inner cities are stuck with no where to go. If the local politicians/police are not going to protect them who will. These folks see their only option is to protect themselves.

In a way, it's getting kind of humorous now watching these mayors take a step back and regroup. The protestors made the mistake of saying the stuff they were stealing was reparations and they deserved it. They then had the gall to say it was all insured so the businesses didn't lose anything. So today, the mayor of Chicago had to respond that it is never OK to take someone else's property. This after months of allowing it to happen, not allowing the police to stop it and not prosecuting the few they actually did arrest. They brought this on themselves.

Here's what we are dealing with here in Michigan. Read how our Gov Vetoed a bill that would stop admitting Positive Covid-19 cases in to Nursing homes

Gretchen Whitmer is Americas most incompetent politician

Even before the pandemic it was clear that nursing homes were hellish dens of illness and filth. These institutions, the vast majority of which are run on a for-profit basis, are not a fit place for anyone. Which is why it is almost unbelievable that in some states patients with active cases of COVID-19 are still being moved from hospitals to elder care facilities.

The results have been predictable. Nursing homes, which have been the focal point of the epidemic in this country since March, are responsible for at least 40 percent of all deaths attributed to the coronavirus. Governors in vast majority of states decided some time ago that no one infected with the virus should be sent to a nursing home and that every other imaginable precaution should be taken to ensure that the disease is not introduced to places in which it is guaranteed to spread like wildfire. Among them, after a long delay, was the Democratic governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, who has otherwise distinguished himself during the present crisis mostly for a series of obnoxious CNN appearances with his brother, Chris.

This has not been the case in my home state of Michigan. Two weeks ago, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer vetoed a piece of legislation that would have prevented patients with active COVID-19 infections from being placed in nursing homes. Instead, the legislation would have required these individuals to be treated in entirely separate, otherwise empty facilities reserved exclusively for those who have already contracted the disease.

It is impossible to mount a scientific justification for Whitmer's veto. It was an act of pure spite, a move that signaled nothing save her unlimited contempt for the Republican-controlled state legislature. Her feeble defense — that not placing virus patients in nursing homes where their chances of infecting their fellow occupants are all but guaranteed would have violated their medical rights and privacy rights — is risible on its face. Where were the supposed rights of the same individuals when they were moved from hospitals to nursing homes, ostensibly in accordance with guidelines from the CDC? Where were the rights of those who would be exposed to this lethal disease? Only three days after the first case of the virus was confirmed in Michigan, the head of the Healthcare Association of Michigan proposed treating coronavirus patients in vacant facilities in a widely shared letter. This idea, which would almost certainly have saved hundreds and perhaps even thousands of lives, was imperiously dismissed out of hand by Whitmer.

Why should anyone be surprised, though? This is the same governor who decreed that it was illegal to visit one's own private vacation home and to purchase garden gnomes in stores that were otherwise open, who decided to open the northern half of the state for the explicit purpose of visiting Traverse City, where days later a patriotic marina owner refused to allow Whitmer's husband to launch his expensive boat ahead of others who had been waiting longer. Whitmer is everything critics accuse President Trump of being: venal, narcissistic, hypocritical, obtuse, willfully ignorant, and totally indifferent to human life.

Five state governors ordered nursing homes to take covid patients in direct contradiction to CDC recommendations. New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and California. 70% of all deaths in PA are from nursing homes.

Gun show report. Got there late morning, no crowd. Parking lot had plenty of spaces. Lots of stuff for sale inside. Most of the stuff was older. Not a lot of modern guns so they are selling. Did not see much ammo for sale either. This was a small show.

Aragorn243-- That's one of the weird things about this gun buying panic. No one wants a good used gun! The younger generation wants new not "old" people's guns. same with rifles. Plenty of bolt actions to including milsurplus but they want the pistol caliber carbine, an AK or an AR platform. I cannot think of a better home defense gun as an Enfield, Mauser, Araiska, M1903, M1917, Pat 14 or M1icon rifle with a bayonet on it as a home defense gun. If any protester shows up, they will not cause trouble or they will get my "point" of view not to cause trouble.

People who never thouth about 'guns' are now coming to me for "advice" on what to buy for home protection. Most are shocked when I tell them that you just can't go out an buy a fund that you have to take a California Gun Saftey test (and pay for it) and do a back ground check (and payfor it) and wait 10 days (really 13 days) before you will get you firearm. I go on to tell them while I would normally help you find the right firearm for the application, you do not have a large choice if any right now as most guns stores are sold out and that finding ammunition is another problem. Then there is the training as a firearm is not like operating a computer; you can't just point and click. While I know a few gun stores that have pleanty of 9mm Ammo, neat imposabble to buy any handgun in 9mm. You can still find someshot guns but they are set up for hunting with the longer barrels.

My wife did pick up her Sig P365 XL last Tuesday but shes still recovering from her surgery so we have not had a chance to take it out.
