    LB Lee Enfield No.4 Mk1 and Mk1*

What would be reasonable prices for such rifles in canada? The stocks are linseed oilicon soaked and rough in places, the blue on the metal is maybe 65%. Sorry I don't have pics.

Matching numbers on bolt, receiver, stock, or mismatched? Bores good or shot to crap? Does the Mk I have all correct parts, or some later ones? All this will make a big difference between 150 mismatch with crappy bore or 400-500 matching with really nice bore. Pics would help.

D/A Longbranch Enfields sell in the UKicon for about £275 retail. the dealers buy them in for about £175. You will pay about £600+ for a good live fire No4.

Just bought one here in the states, BSA No4 Mk1 with a very nice bore, sling and bayonet for $245. Stock shows 2 well done arsenal repairs and some minor dents and dings but all cartouches are there and it is unsanded. My bluing I would rate at 65 to 70%also. The twin to my gun is in a local gun shop for $450 without the extras and the stock is much worse. A very nice Savage was for sale here at Cabelas for $699 and it sold!

The best Canadian gun forum is Canadian Gun Nutz. There you will find links there to dealers who have listed No.4s in original and sporterized condition. Long Branchs in Canadaicon will always do better than Savage or Britishicon production, but you need to find someone who really wants your rifle compared to what someone else is selling. But don't fall for the line, "That's just a crapped out old army rifle. No body shoots them any more. I'll give you $150 to take it off your hands."
