1944 WRA stock markings pic and question
I only know enough to be dangerous so forgive my ignorance. do these markings seem right?
the DAS stamp was from a later era but I guess could have been added during a refit? my question is shouldn't there also be an ordinance wheel marking?

stamps
I don't think the DAS stamp was used on rebuilds, your stamps also do not not look original

check sticky threads above, stock quiz by Rick borecky for Winchester cartouches. Stock rebuilds during later WW2 used
cartouches such as GAW, NFR later SHM and SPG. Rebuild facilities used letters and numbers sometimes enclosed in open
boxes or just stamped on the stock. Later on electric pencil on receiver legs was used to indicate rebuild

well I have been doing some reading on this for the last few weeks and I had a feeling. so all of the work you guys do does do some good. thank you RCS and Rick borecky for your help. saved me from making a bad purchase of an otherwise nice looking rifle.

Maybe you could use the information reference the fake cartouches to negotiate a lower price and then replace the faked stock with a correct one?
