Help Identify stock markings on a 1944 Ishapore No1 MKIII

A few weeks ago I went on a search to find a No1 MKIII for my collection and I came up with this, from what I have learned its a 1944 Ishapore No1 MKIII in fairly good condition but I have no idea what the various stock markings mean.

















this last one isn't a BSA its E.S.A

GRI; Georgius Rex Imperator. Pre Indian independence era rifle. Have absolutely no idea what ESA and PRP stand for, have looked all over the net for an answer to no avail.
I love an Enfield with stamps and markings all over it such as yours..it's like a history book you can shoot! (did that make sense??)

The banged up ones do have more character than the ones that look new and it is definitely a joy shooting tangible pieces of history.

Now I was wondering what these various marks mean

Mainly these with the "crossed P's"




With this one I'm pretty sure it means rust was found in the bore which has now been taken care of.

Top picture "Crown over crossed pennants with P under" George V cypher, between 1910 & 1936 found on the knox form or action body. Bolt head picture "Crossed pennants" are a feature of bolt proof and are found on the bolt head or bolt body. "Star" if that is what it is I am afraid I have no idea.

Star on top of barrel does mean rust. However, it generally means 'starting to rust'. I have 3 rifles with that mark, and for the most part the bores are in great shape.

That is definitely the case with this rifle, the rifling is strong and after a good cleaning the bore is now an almost mirror finish minus the slight pitting and the slight reddish hue.
