Opinions from Kahr arms semi-auto Thompson owners
So I am looking at purchasing a Thompson for my collection. Not owning a money tree I need to settle with a Kahr arms semi-auto. So I see some very vocal people who have gotten bad rifles. I know the people who are disappointed always are the loudest. What is the opinion of the Kahr rifles from those who own one??? Good, Bad and Ugly I would love to know.

If you're OK with used, there was someone on here (I think, may have been CMP) selling an AO Thompson semi a few weeks ago...

Hmmm, in all my years I never realized used guns were garbage. Thanks for setting me straight!

Its that "New Thing" RASelkirk which is good that leaves pristine sleepers for others to buy, like my Tricolore 1199 S Ducati 2012 model with allot of carbon fiber and Ducati engine performance upgrades yep it was second hand but had only done 1,500 KLm (932.0568 miles) in 7 years which I got for $30,000/AUD less than the new price yeah was a bit dirty & dusty but I can live with a bike thats done @200 Klms(124.274 miles)a year. It really sparkles now I'm so glad it was garbage 2nd hand gear............................

Wow so apparently no one really reads these before stating an opinion. Never once did I say the originals were garbage.... don`t know how that came about. I am asking about the new ones. I have never seen a real Thompson for $1500.00 if someone has one for sale please let me know. Like I said before I have a modest collection of service rifles with an even more humble income to acquire more with. The new Kahr arms can be bought for $1000-1500.00. If I had $25000.00+ to spend I would love to have a real one. I just thought I could get a simple opinion on this site. No one makes the Semi-autos that are like the originals. But here is the question "Should I just settle never having a copy simply because I don`t have endless disposable income?? From the responses I have seen I should just forget it if I can`t pony-up the cash... I have seen a lot of good and bad opinions about the new ones and was simply looking for opinions about the rifles.

My point was that 2nd handies or even non originals produced by others can be of good manufacture and not garbage, those that are not so well made usually go out of business pretty quick and always as usual there can be non original lemons to point out a lemon for you my friend brought brand new off the shelf Remington 700 in 22/250 it went back 3 times to the manufacturer had a new barrel fitted by them and so on. The shop that sold it custom builds 1/4 MOA rifles consistently but nothing they tried as well under warranty etc made that thing any better than a 5 MOA rifle and for a 22/250 thats garbage for a Kangaroo shooter. Gave it back to Remington brought another brand in 22/250.
A person may say a things garbage but you don't know how they shoot or in fact treat a weapon best to do the research on other gun boards or try and demo one in the U S you guys well can get just about anything even tanks to play with a replica Thompson should be easy to source

Thanks Cinders. normally they would be easy to find in the USA last week. This week the site that had 10 available have zero. Times are changing fast might just have to consider spending my cash on more effective gear like a "TANK"... lol. My question is about Kahr arms in general. Never shot any of their firearms and just looking for thoughts. Really have no hopes of ever affording a real one.
