Looking for WW2 38/200 ammo for collection.
Hi All,
Have recently acquired a 1940 Enfield No2 mk1 revolver and also a colt police official (Aust Army marked WW2 issue) and am looking for a couple of packets of WW2 38/200 ammo to put on display with the revolvers. Anyone got any leads to who might still have some for sale at a reasonable price? Also looking for and CES for the 2 as well (armourers tools etc).
Many Thanks!

The .38/200 cartridge was no longer made or issued in WWII. A lighter FMJ cartridge was in service from the 1930s on.

Snook, mate there used to be a gun shop in Bexley on the road to Bexley North, I can't remember the name at the moment - began with a J I think, but it had all sorts of collectables seemingly from the year dot on. I don't know if it's still there, but that would be the first place in the Sydney Metropolitan area that I would try.

Well guys just to keep you all updated , i have contacted several dealers here in OZ (Jansa etc) and they have none available. They all suggested I have a look at the gun fairs/shows here in oz which I will do. Also contacted a couple of dealers in the UK who have packets in stock but they are unable or unwilling to send to Australia.
Oh well....will keep on trying....the thrill of the chase an all that!

I have a small stash of FN 178 grain ball ammo that I found at California gun shows in years past. It appears to be post WW2 vintage at shoots to point of aim, unlike any 148 grain .38 S&W I have ever tried...
