ZFK55 k31/42 and k31/43 Owners
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. This note will not apply to very many of you at all, but I'm hoping those of you who know other owners of the ZFK55 rifles might pass this on to other owners on pages and forums of which I may be completely unaware.
I just got off the phone with Simpson's Limited to tell them that the ZFK55 scope they sent to us recently is being shipped back to them tomorrow completely repaired and, once again, functional
This one was like many others we have already worked on including the K31/42 and the K31/43 sniper scopes.
If there is something wrong with your windage, elevation or other idiosyncrasies in any of the scopes, unless you are experienced, please do not open and try to repair them yoursef. That is exactly what happened to Simpson's latest ZFK55
Disassembly and reassembly is (for us) not too difficult, but just time consuming. We can correct most errors, but some of those errors involve threads of very small items inside the scope being stripped. We actually have a set of mini-taps and other extremely specialized tools to accomplish these things, however .......... actual parts are virtually impossible to get replaced with original parts.
Micro-machining of some things is within the realm of possibility, but now we're talking about an extremely expensive process to restore the scope with parts that are not original. If there is full disclosure, that does devalue the scope and/or rifle a bit, and may be more than just a bit.
Thank you.
