Well, I jumped on the PSA special, a PSA (not PTAC) upper with T marks, 1/7 twist 16" Melonite carbine barreled upper for $199 delivered, and the PSA premium M16 BCG (Carpenter 158 steel), MPI, and shot peened for $89 delivered. Added it to an Anderson lower with Colt LPK I already had, and did a Cheapo build. I like the compact Colt Fiberite CAR15 stock (instead of the big M4 or Magpul affairs), so I bought an MA clone on a mil-spec tube for $60 (including buffer and spring) which is virtually identical to the Colt N1 marked stock, including ribs on the channel, and their early Colt style $15 CAR15 smaller handguards. add to that an AIM flip up, locking BUIS and my Tasco 30mm (lens with 38mm tube) shotgun scope on $11.00 Picatinny 1/2" risers from Ebay for a perfect co-witness. Being in Californication, I am running a Hammerhead (which I had), a muzzle brake, and the stock is pinned so I am featureless with high caps. I was tickled to get the T marked PSA upper and melonite barrel. Good enough for Zombie slaying and home defense.
And to the "brand snobs" and PSA haters, I really don' care what you think. If you want to spend more money on your builds, more power to you. I choose just to have a serviceable, non-taticool KISS carbine. I bought it for me, since at the moment I was AR-less (and my AK and PTR91 were getting lonely). I have done four PSA and PTAC upper builds before, and every one got 1 MOA with MK262 MOD1.
Well, here is my decidedly non-tacticool KISS Carbine and its rig. I am ready for those Zombies! The Glock 19 was my duty weapon from 1994 to 2000 when I retired from Law Enforcement. Before certain non-free state morons get their panties in a bunch about the mags... Some of the mags go back to the Army 1974-1979 and USAF 1979-1981 and the rest to my LEO career. All were for my 1990 registered RAW (SP1 Carbine), that I sold when I disability retired in 2000.
