Bore Machining Marks ?
Recieved a new Wilson barrel from Brownells for my Mauser.
I can see machining marks in the bore, mostly on the lands, you can see it on the bottom land.
Normal or send it back ?

I've seen these before. I'll bet after 500 rounds you won't see any...

Normal.
BTW: Savage factory barrels are usually quite hideous, but they are usually very accurate. A "pretty" bore may require less cleaning, but it may not. Same goes for accuracy.

chatter marks, dull or going to fast with the cutter, many lower quality barrels will have them, they will charge you a restocking fee, if they agree to accept the barrel back.
and the next barrel you get may be worse, it will most likely be fine..depending on what you plan on doing, and shooting with it.
if your looking for a top quality barrel, Gunparts corp wouldnt be the first choice...and likely will cost you more then 300.00

Brownells will take it back, they have their forever return policy with full refund, but as you say the next maybe worse, of course I could send that one back as well.
My plan for the rifle is to shoot mostly Cast and I want it Accurate and not lead up.
Should I take a chance or send it back and order a Lothar Walther ?

For lead bullets? Spend the extra money!

Yes, because otherwise you are going to spend that money on trips to the range and ammunition to run it in. Browingautorifle is, of course, quite right. But you could save the 500 rounds and travel time and costs by getting a Lothar Walther to start off with!
Those chatter marks will act like external broach cutters on lead bullets. The leading will be awful. Send it back.

Appreciate all the input & advice
I could not get past the marks in the bore so I sent it back.
Thinking of ordering a Lothar Walther
