Trench knifle
A quick search proved these are popular to copy any chance this could be a cleaned up original?
Thanks

IMO this is a recent reproduction. It is just way TOO clean to be nearly 100 years old. That gap between the hilt and the blade tang is larger than I have seen on originals, and if it were original, there is no way you could completely clear 100 years of crud out of a gap like that, and there would be some minor staining or oxidation patina on the blade. I vote for it being about 2 years old or younger.

I think that boltaction has this nailed down, in support of all of his points, it just looks suspiciously "too new" in nice condition, but not nicely crafted.
Likely a product of one of the modern India or China based reproduction shops.
For discussion sake how did you come to have it, or is it a potential acquisition?

i found this in a friends garage last night. It was stored in a box with many other knifes. Her husband sadly passed away around two years ago. He collected knives and other military things.
I had my doubts about the trench knife but the broze handle seems very old. It looks likes someone grinded down the rough spots and maybe replace the blade imo.
