    Trench devices

While back east I went through the Springfield Armory. I found a display I thought was quite interesting. Trench Devices attached. The periscopes were particularly interesting to me. I had not seen anything like that before.

One way to keep your head down. I recently watched "All Quiet on the western front" and it seemed if you stuck your head up you got it shot off. This gismo seems to be an answer.
Maybe they will come up with a rifle that will shoot around a corner?

Reminds me of that old saying. "Three on a match is unlucky"

SA has some neat stuff, don't they ?? Did you see the Civil War rifles that had been struck by lightning while carried by a soldier during a rainstorm ??

Yep, saw those too. I spent over 6 hours in there. And most of their items are in storage for lack of room. The guide said they rotate some stuff. The early stock turning machines were very interesting.

I've seen rifles that were designed to shoot around corners. I believe the Germans were working on them in WWII. The barrel was curved. I do not remember which book I saw them in however.
