Question M1 garrand and new ammo

Just purchased an M1 from local CMPicon.....had a really hard time with smooth round to chamber placement until an more experienced gent told me the stripper clips were made in South Americaicon .....got some from USAicon and it put a chill down my neck....smooth as silk.
Anyway....only old ammo in these guns?

Old ammo??? No, use moderate pressure ammo or get an adjustable gas cylinder lock screw to avoid a bent op rod. As pointed out in half a dozen threads here, before these wives tales about blowing guns up started we used whatever ammo came to hand. Here in Canadaicon, if you buy ammo there is no stocks of military ball to select from. Just don't use the new light magnum loads. They're really hot!
    Regards, Jim

if you want to use M2 ball surplus...
surplus ammo from the CMPicon is at a good price
and at the moment they still have greek HXP which is really good stuff, as far as surplus goes
it also should match up to your rear sight as its straight up m2 ball
