    Seller says:

This rifle would described as new with the exception of a few small marks. I bought it from an old chap who unpacked it in grease and brown paper and fired it 3 times. It is in impeccable condition with full wood and all ser. #'s match with tight head space, good rifling. If you,re a collector, you won't want to miss this one. The first 700 takes it.

    Isn't that the truth.

It looks to me like it's parked. Would the Mk2 sight be original in '42?

Yes, the Mk2 sight was original to '41, '42, '43, up to June '44

The retro-fit of Mk III sights to earlier began in June '44 when they also entered the production stream.

Just because it may be parked doesn't mean that the story isn't basically true. I've seen newly Canadianicon FTRed guns that just came out of the cosmolineicon.

Having said that, I wouldn't pay @$300 for a story....
