My cartridge collection
Are there any cartridge collectors here. This is most of the small arms ammo in my collection.

I have a collection like that but I no longer display it. People would unswervingly dive a fist into it to grab something and the domino effect would happen. I got tired of setting it back up...

Ha Ha. I set this up for some photos and my cat played dominoes with it. I don't display mine either. I have some larger stuff up to a couple of 155s.

Great start! A cartridge collection can quickly become a large, unwieldy thing........don't ask!
Looks like you have a nice mix of stuff. Have you thought any about specializing or narrowing your focus?
I started out as a general collector, but now concentrate on metric-military under 12mm, with a few specialty calibers.

I don't collect cartridges any more. I just add something from time to time as I find something. My original goal was to obtain every cartridge in the fifth edition of Cartridges of the World. I never got there but I checked off almost every American cartridge in the book including the 70/150 Winchester! I have been collecting militaria since the late 80's and currently collect Spanish American War thru WWI time period. I don't have many uniforms but lots of gear.

70/150 Winchester
I found this cartridge at a skeet range in Marble Falls, Texas. The fellow collected shot shells and so I traded for it. It cost me seven or eight shells, including a Greener 16/12 ga. shell, a couple of European 12 ga. slugs and an 8 ga. Industrial slug. I also got a two 9mm rim-fire shot shells in the trade.

That is very impressive. I have a few hundred but am not going to set them all up. Keep up the great work.

You have some very nice cartridges.
I have a decent collection and was fortunate many years ago to get a lawyers filing cabinet, it is made of shallow drawers and perfect for displaying. The bonus was my friend also had this very odd wall board that is comprised of routered groves and the cartridges lay perfectly in them. I will have to reprogram my brain on how to post some pictures.
I will convince my son to help me and post in a different thread as I wouldn't want to hi-jack this one.

Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?
