I am looking to see what value this old relic I own has (its up on auction and I cannot change parts of it).

From one senders input, the round 1936 is a bit rare (know we are not talking big bucks here of course)

Condition wise its a mix master with none of the serial parts matching, stock has a wedge piece broken off at the butt and generality a bit beat up on the stock. Surprisingly the receiver and barrel look to be in good to very good condition with some surface rust, blemish and very minor pitting. The chamber from what I can see is clean. Barrel looks ok but no real idea what a MN should look like newer or not.

I put a Steven Mathew MW gauge down the barrel and came up with a 2. I know its very course check but seems like it has a new barrel on it as the actual caliber of the 7.62 round is larger than the US .308.

History wise its one of those odd items from when I was a kid and my dad bought it for me from NRA I think as we broke our toy guns all too often (that was about 1960 and I suspect Sam Cummins procured from Spain surplus)

Of course once it got to us my Dad had one of those, ooops moments as firearms safety was paramount and here he was handing me a rifle that was fully functional and it was possible to jam a US round in it even if not likely.

So, he cut the firing pin off and I was not allowed to point it at anyone but only in general direction. It became my BAR as it was so damned heavy!

One of those odd vortices of circumstances as I got a bayonet about the same time roughly and it turned out to be a rare WT one, go figure.
