I cataloged one of these for an Auction coming up in November here in New Zealand
. Its the first time I have seen one but it too had the ->S<- marking. This marking probably hasn't been used in decades, its a British
SOLD out of SERVICE marking, something that at one stage was common on Lee Enfields that were sold off.
It would be nice to learn more about these rifles.

Yes thats true . I have heared stories about it , but nothing sounds logic to me .
