    Question German K43 Sniper Rifle + Scope - $7,495 U.S.

This is a nice looking piece, but you'd have to mortgage your house to buy it, plus they raised the price from $7475 to $7495 after expert analysis.

    Feedback and comments anyone?

    Price: US $7475.00

This rifle was produced by Walther (AC Code) and dated 1944. The serial number is 375G with Waffenamt 359 in 3 places. The scope rail is notched and the muzzle is plain. The bolt housing is forged with milled sides and the receiver is the Type 2 milled panel type A reading "K 43 AC/44". The rifle has one bolt guide lug. The stock recoil lug is the standard type and the bolt carrier has the hard open latch. The sight buttons are smooth and un-checkered. The black painted magazine is marked GCB for "Grochman U. Sohn Ad. Metallosaronfabrik, Wurbenthal/Sud" and Waffenamt "Waa B92" with the correct single "K" stamped on the bottom. This is a type 3 magazine. The sling is marked "CTG 44" over "WAA 866" and is a modern replacement. The butt trap contains an original 4" X 3" instruction booklet type 2 dated 11.5.44 and 3 spare parts in a paper envelope, a firing pin, firing, pin extension, and extractor with spring and screw. Also included is a ZF 4 scope and mount with correct leather cover. The scope serial number is 65991 and the base number is 2929 with WAA 359. The scope is marked GW 2 F4/65991 DDX with pyramid for Voilander Und Sohn, and has the pointed post. The scope correctly is NOT numbered to the rifle as for page 241 of our reference used "Hitler's Garands" by W.Darrin Weaver that states "War Time ZF41 bearing a rifle serial number are the result of collector mischief". This is an all correct example of the German effort to produce a Garandicon type semi auto rifle. An outstanding museum qualitiy example that grades over 98% condition, as originally returned by a GI. Since placing this excellent rifle up for sale we have discovered that there have been a few modifications to it since its return. It is now noted that the replacement sling has been added, the magzine was painted with black enamel and the stock has received a slight skim of varnish. It can be noted as well that the 2 scope band screws have been replaced with original WWII correct screws. We have had this piece examined by two very knowledgable collector experts who have confirmed that this superb example is now 100% correct and original. As a result of the above, we have adjusted the price of this item to $7495.
