    Question mauser luger

received a mauser luger little information found on mauser website, wondering if a few experts could help me out....with info about proofmarks as to the history of this piece

    chamber dated 1941
front toggle link with "mauser" emblem
    r side chamber with eagle/falcon? above a swastika beside a "L"
    l side chamber with eagle/falcon? over a "N"
appears to be same or similar mark on l side of toggle side plate
    barrell with markings "882"
"x" type mark below 4 digit serial number with no suffix below barrell and and on magazine, with all numbers matching

thanks in advance, just unable to find much about the different proofmarks.

You have a police Luger made in 1941. The Eagle/L is the police acceptance mark, and the Eagle/N is the commercial proof mark. The 8,82 is the bore diameter of the barrel. The X is the letter suffix of the serial number, and on the pistol the letter suffix will only be on the serial number on the front of the frame. The serial number on the barrel and left side of receiver will not have the letter suffix.
Can't tell you much more without pictures.

The Lugers with the Mauser logo on the front toggle are commonly known as the "Mauser Banner", or as in the case of yours, "Police Banner".
