SMLE No. 1 Mk III* Teak Fore-end??

I'm working on restoring (at least to shooting condition if not entirely historically accurate) a Lithgowicon No. 1 Mk III* that had been sporterized. I've been collecting parts, but the fore-end I received is said to be teak or some kind of mahogany. I believe it might be teak - I don't think mahogany. Were No. 1 Mk III* stocks ever made out of teak??

Yes, about 5 years ago. I know a couple of guys with full teak sets, one of them (the rifle AND owner) is a superb shooter.
