TT-33 Fails to extract Sellier & Bellot ammo?
Ok, went to the range today tried my TT-33 with some new Sellier & Bellot 85grain FMJ and almost all, even trying with different clips failed to extract causing a second round to get jammed against the empty. Tried some Czech surplus corrosive and had no failures to extract. Extractor not broken could not see anything wrong with it. Anyone have any similar occurrences or any ideas? Also noticing that the primers on both corrosive and the non have a long impact by the firing pin almost like the brass is moving when the firing pin hits it, and does not create a perfectly round indentation.
Note: Not the original extractor, had extractor replaced a few weeks ago had a steel case stuck in the chamber that ripped a chunk of the extractor, could the new extractor be at fault? Have not tried Sellier & Bellot ammo with the original extractor.

It could be the extractor. The S&B stuff is usually pretty good. The Czech milsurp ammo is on the hot side so ejection is very positive.

The elongated hit is due to the firing pin not being in a retracted position when the slide and barrel unlock. Common with striker fired pistols that have Browning lock-up, but not usual with inertia type firing pins such as the 1911.

Agreed. I have two TT33's and have owned a half-dozen more. All of them did this to the primers. I think it's because the hammer spring is stronger than the firing pin spring, so the hammer keeps the pin well engaged until after a fair bit of slide travel.

Just tried a new extractor from Marstar and the Tok functioned flawlessly. Noticed on the other extractor the tip where it holds the rim was really thin and bent. Thanx for the help guys.
