Reproduction U.S. Military Cartouches/Inspector Stamps.
I'm sure some of you have seen these repro Cartouches/Stamps, but FYI for those that haven't. Note that the seller isn't advertising them as originals, but as newly made.

I bought one from him just for the purpose of seeing how good they would be. I would find it hard to believe that anyone could get a decent looking cartouche out of one of those. Along with the stamp came his complete instruction guide on how/where to stamp and how to make the stamp look original or aged. He is specifically marketing these to people for the purpose of making decent fakes. Its discusting and it really makes me angry to think that this is what is becoming of my hobby/interest.

Typical though of anything that can make a scad of money at one blow. It worries me that if I hold on to my LL rifle long enough, people will no longer believe it to be what it is because of the amount of fakes that will be around at that point.

I feel the same way about my 6-42 nearly correct Garand. Hopefully it will someday be correct, but I fear that it will be assumed fake by most people who are not educated on the matter.
