Thread: Enfield No 4 MK 1* help

    Enfield No 4 MK 1* help

    I just got a Long Branch Enfield No 4 MK 1*

    It has a plastic stock someone before me did. I want to return it to how it was back in 1942. I was inspecting it and found some markings I can't identify. I will give you the low down as much as I can to ID the markings and anything special about the rifle.

    Long Branch 1942, No 4 MK 1* (all on the left side of the receiver)

    2L945 (On receiver between the trigger and the safety)

    S (stamped in the receiver before the rear sight in the area the bolt goes into receiver)

    77 with a Oval stamped around it. There is also something else stamped in the oval but I cant make it out. ( back right side of receiver where the bolt handle sets when the bolt it closed.

    I have a crest stamped just below the 77. It looks like two swords crossing with a crown on top between the hilts of the swords. On the left side of the cross swords there is a C. On the bottom is a P and on the left side is a C again.

    A arrow with a circle pointing down the barrel is stamped into the receiver.

    On the right side of the barrel near the receiver there are a lot of stamps. Closest to the barrel are another arrow with a circle excelpt this is inside a oval with the number 80 inside.

    That is next to a circled arrow with a 35 stamped bellow that. (with no oval)

    Above all that is another Crest with the swords. (looking closer the swords could be flags.. similar to a guidon.)

    Above that 42 is stamped very clearly and large.

    Above that is a circled arrow with a oval and a 81 stamped inside that.

    On the oposite side of that is the serial numbers 2L 945

    There is also a underlined B Stamped near that.


    Any ideas guys?

    Ok thanks but I couldn't find any of my markings except the arrow with a circle is a Arrow with a C around it meaning Canadianicon ownership.
