That hammer is for an M2, you could use it on an M1 but would need to put a spacer alongside it. Nice collection of good stuff! - Bob

Spacer meaning a washer. Do not shoot it without a washer by the hammer.

The stock looks a lot better then in the pics. My cell phone does really well at close ups but not to good at 4'or 5'. I'm waiting for the hand guard I got off Gun Broker to come in. It looked like it's in really bad shape and should be fun to clean up.

Type III WWII replacement hammers are cheap. Look for a WA or W (For White) to save some $$.

I've got a hammer like yours. I believe I measured one time, and found a washer that was just right to use with it that measured .058" thick. JimF4M1s gave me a new Type 3, so never installed the other one. Thanks Jim! - Bob

I don't think it is. I had it and it was identical to the other early M2 stock I had. It wasn't carved out, but a milling machine was used. The interior "finish" of the stock is even throughout.
