I found a first series Nagoya-29267 at my friends gun shop. Unmolested mum and in really neat shape. Not sure if it has a chrome lined barrel.

What caught my eye was the GI owner put, "Saipan. June 25 1944" on the stock with a hard lead pencil!

Also, there are 8 distinct notches on the stock. No Mono pod but it has the protective ears on the attachment and the airplne sights only have one notch instead of two. Will post images when I get the rifle....

Adding to my first post is that I was allowed to check the bolt etc for matching numbers and they did match.
